Different types of knitted fabrics

1. jersey
Jersey is the most common type of knitting. To make this fabric, a needle is used to assemble the stitches and stitches together. Therefore, this kind of fabric is also called single weave or plain weave. In various knitted fabrics, it is easy to distinguish because of its obvious correctness and bad side.

Jersey fabrics are common textiles used to make basic T-shirts. It is also very suitable for hanging clothes, such as dresses and tops. It can use any fiber, we can store wool, hemp, bamboo and cotton. We also stock Tencel, Modal, Rayon and some polyester fibers.

The characteristics of jersey fabrics to remember:

Unless the material contains a certain amount of spandex, the stretchability is not strong
The right and wrong sides are different from the fabric
The edges are easily rolled up when pulled

2. Ribbed knitting
Ribbed knitting, or sometimes ribbed knitting, has vertical relief patterns. The fabric is made using a double bed knitting machine with two vertical weave threads. Due to its vertical rib, this knitted fabric is also easy to identify. There are two basic types of rib knitting according to the order of stitches and back stitches. The 1 × 1 rib has the order of 1 needle and 1 reverse needle, while the 2 × 2 needle has the order of 2 needles and 2 reverse needles.

Because the stretch range of the rib knit fabric is larger, and one side is flat, it is very suitable for making high-necked sweaters, sweater bottoms, cuffs and necklines. It is also very good at making carpets (including carpets and other home decorations). It can use any fiber, we can store wool, hemp, bamboo and cotton. We also stock Tencel, Modal, Rayon and some polyester fibers.

The characteristics of ribbed knitted fabrics to remember:
Heavier than jersey
Of the three basic types of knitted fabrics, they usually have high elasticity, but 1 × 1 ribs are more elastic than 2 × 2 ribs
The right and right sides of the fabric are almost the same
Not as smooth as jersey
The edges do not curl when pulled

3. Interlocking weave
Interlocking weave is similar to rib weave. Some experts say this is a variation of the ribs because the tissue is also made with 2 needles. It also looks like 2 single-layer braids stacked on top of each other. Therefore, this knitted fabric is also called double-sided rib.

When you want to sew pants, skirts, vests, the best type of weave is interlocking fabrics. It can use any fiber, we can store wool, hemp, bamboo and cotton. We also stock Tencel, Modal, Rayon and some polyester fibers.

The characteristics of interlocking knitted fabrics to remember:
Heavier and thicker than the jersey
Less elastic than Jersey
Reversible fabric with no reverse side
Among the three basic knitted fabrics, the interlocking is more stable.

4. French terry knitting
French terry cloth is a knitted terry cloth with terry and many soft yarns on one side (usually inside the clothes), and a smooth and soft surface on the other side. The result is a moisture-absorbing, lightweight, moisture-wicking material that is very comfortable on any day of the year. It can use any fiber, we can store wool, hemp, bamboo and cotton. We also stock Tencel, Modal, Rayon and some polyester fibers.

5. Wool sweater
